Dr. Walid A. Kh. Farajullha: Interfaith Dialogue and Gender Problems; An Epistemic Approach
The Jurisprudence Faculty of the University of Kufa held the first (in-person) international post-con meeting of the International Conference on Imam Reza (PBUH) and Interreligious Dialogue on February 25, 2024. At this session, Dr. Walid A. Kh. Farajullha (Professor, Faculty of Jurisprudence, University of Kufa, Iraq) delivered his speech under the title “Interfaith Dialogue and Gender Problems; An Epistemic Approach"
In this research, I address the topic of interfaith dialogue and gender issues from an epistemic perspective. I review how scholars of living religions must actively participate in a meaningful international dialogue aimed at protecting the ethical system from deviations and fostering family cohesion. I focus on the vital role of religions in bringing closer a wholesome image of humanity and nature according to religious standards and the importance of noble values in forming the family as a cornerstone of the social system. I also discuss how serious challenges in our contemporary world target religions with their doctrinal, legislative, and value systems, referring to phrases such as "deception" and "ignorance" used by forces of darkness to achieve their agendas. I explore the philosophy behind the term "gender" and how it affects perceptions of male and female in society, emphasizing that these perceptions are the result of religious and social upbringing. I conclude by stressing the necessity of employing religious marital concepts and ethical standards in religious societies to face gender challenges and the need to establish critical thinking to confront this notion.
