At this session, Dr. Mohammad Amin Taqavi (Assistant Professor, Imam Sadiq University, Iran) delivered his speech under the title “Harmony of Original Disposition (Fiṭrah) and Family Upbringing: Developing Personality towards Human Perfection"

This article explores the harmony between original disposition and family upbringing from the perspective of Islam, investigating how families can enhance and protect the sound nature of their members, and how this original disposition contributes to the development of children within the family framework. Islam emphasizes the importance of original disposition in developing ethics and positive behavior, considering it the natural foundation of humans, linked to faith in God and the natural inclination towards good, aiming to achieve psychological perfection and the status of the complete human. The research highlights the importance of providing a loving and supportive family environment in nurturing children's original dispositions, where strong family relationships help develop self-confidence, awareness of its dimensions, ethics, and creativity towards achieving a sense of security. It also stresses the importance of teaching positive values and ethics, which enhance original disposition through noble characteristics and encourage positive behavior. The research discusses how to encourage children towards independence and decision-making, which strengthens their sound original disposition and helps them develop self-judgment aiming at human perfection. Additionally, it discusses the role of spiritual and religious guidance in enhancing original disposition through establishing a religious environment by learning prayers, jurisprudential rulings, doctrinal rituals, and ethical values. The article also highlights the importance of enhancing self-awareness and emotional expression in developing original disposition, allowing children to understand their feelings and express them correctly. This enables them to understand themselves, which can be described as self-knowledge, and interact with others in a balanced and correct manner. Through this reciprocal interaction, the family contributes to developing the fundamental aspects of sound original disposition, which are ethical capabilities, independence, social awareness, self-confidence, and creativity in children. The research shows how these interactions can build a child's personality and enhance their full potential, demonstrating the vital role of original disposition and its development in upbringing within the family framework to approach human perfection.
