Dr. Hasanayn Jabir al-Hulw: The Epistemological Approach as an Iintroduction to Understanding Civilizational Dialogue between Religions
The Jurisprudence Faculty of the University of Kufa held the first (in-person) international post-con meeting of the International Conference on Imam Reza (PBUH) and Interreligious Dialogue on February 25, 2024. At this session, Dr. Hasanayn Jabir al-Hulw (Chairman of Studies Center, University of Kufa, Iraq) delivered his speech under the title “The Epistemological Approach as an Iintroduction to Understanding Civilizational Dialogue between Religions"
In this research, I delve into how ideologies impact minds, highlighting the fluctuations experienced by the mind as it oscillates between ascent and descent with differing ideas. I point out that these influences lead to the formation of "stockpiled minds" that are closed, tending to follow others' ideas instead of forming their own. I warn of the danger of false ideologies that limit the search for truth and freedom of thought, and I emphasize the necessity of awareness and critical analysis. Furthermore, I discuss social and political dynamics, noting that individuals engage in groups that contribute to shaping civilization. I shine a light on the tendency towards self-focus at the expense of collective development, which results in social imbalance. I criticize the unilateral viewpoint in thinking, stressing the importance of diversity in opinions and collective participation to achieve a better balance. In conclusion, I call for vigilance against harmful schemes and incoming ideas, underscoring the importance of uniting efforts and collaboration to achieve shared goals. I show the urgent need to overcome unilateral obstacles to achieve greater and more balanced societal progress.
